This Friday morning a storm system is plodding across the center of the country. The warm front extending eastward ahead of it is acting as a highway for scattered showers, which will periodically dot the landscape of Mecklenburg County during the morning hours. Those showers will taper off after lunch as that warm front pushes north of the area.
Temperatures will range from this morning's lows in the upper 40s to afternoon highs in the low 60s. Skies will be mostly cloudy, but there could be some peeks of sunshine before the 5:02 p.m. sunset in Clarksville. Showers will then return after dark as the low pressure system crosses the Appalachians and nears the county.
The showers look to continue Saturday morning before the cold front associated with the low pressure center arrives during the early afternoon. Once that occurs winds will swap around from southwesterly to out of the north, ushering in drier air. Thus tomorrow afternoon skies will turn sunny as that split personality weather situation manifests itself.
Local thermometers will boost into the upper 60s and even near 70ยบ on Saturday. Sunday then will feature sunny skies with afternoon highs topping out in the low 60s after morning readings in the low 40s.
Total rain amounts for the area from this system won't be prodigious, but the forecast amounts per the graphic will help to at least settle the dust:
