"Perfect weather" continues for several more days

There's not much to complain about the current Mecklenburg County weather, other than perhaps it's a little too dry. Blue sky, temperatures in the 50s at night followed by afternoon highs in the 70s, and a breeze to stir the air a bit all equate to delightful and comfortable outdoor conditions.

Here's an early Monday afternoon visible satellite loop:

The clouds just off the coast which are streaming northeastward are associated with the cold front that pushed through the region early Sunday. The lower clouds over the Delmarva Peninsula which are moving to the southwest indicate surface level winds circulating around high pressure centered over New England. Meanwhile, most of the Old Dominion is cloud-free.

The weather on Tuesday and Wednesday will pretty much duplicate today's conditions, but with a few more clouds each day. A low pressure forming along a "wrinkle" in the offshore cold front will toss some Atlantic moisture into the area, but no precipitation is foreseen. No significant changes in this mild stretch of September weather are anticipated through the upcoming weekend.
