Bright blue skies, comfortable temperatures, and light winds...what more could anyone ask for on the last Monday of April? As shown on this surface map at 8 a.m. this Monday morning high pressure (blue "H's") over the eastern half of the U.S. is firmly in control of the weather:
Temperatures which began the morning in the low to mid-40s will top out in the mid-70s this afternoon around Mecklenburg County. Sunset will occur at 8:00 p.m. this evening.Tuesday will feature morning lows near 50ยบ. The high pressure center will slide off the East Coast, with the clockwise air flow around it swinging winds around out of the southwest locally. That wind direction will usher warmer air into the county, boosting tomorrow afternoon's temperatures into the low 80s. Skies will remain clear through Tuesday night.
The latter part of the work week looks to be warm and even humid, with showers and thunderstorms possible each day. Wednesday's blog post will take a closer look at those conditions. Meanwhile, Happy Monday!
