Quiet weather for Severe Weather Awareness Week

Fortunately conditions are quiet this week, so the information provided during this week's Severe Weather Awareness Week won't need to implemented right away. Today's (Monday's) emphasis is on Watches and Warnings. This graphic explains that the latter is a "take action" product, while the former is a "heads up":

This afternoon's high clouds are courtesy of a surface low pressure system moving off the East Coast. Meanwhile, an upper level low is spinning around over northern Georgia as this post is being crafted. The upshot will be that today's high temperature will top out in the low 60s, accompanied by an easterly breeze.

Tuesday will begin with local temperatures in the upper 30s. Full March sunshine will boost those readings into the low 70s by the afternoon. It should be noted that a Tornado Drill will be held tomorrow morning at 9:45 a.m., so businesses, schools, and folks at home are all encouraged to register and take part in this important exercise.

Wednesday will also feature afternoon highs in the low 70s after a somewhat warmer start to the morning. Those 70s look to stick around into the weekend, so enjoy the warmth!
