Quieter weather lies ahead

Mecklenburg county has had plenty of weather impacts to deal with the past ten days or so. The next week looks to be much quieter as the remnant moisture from Helene finally departs the area and autumn begins to make its presence known. A weakening cold front will wash out across western Virginia over the next couple of days and high pressure will take control of local conditions.

This is the seven day expected rainfall through next Wednesday morning, with little or nothing expected locally:

Meanwhile today - Wednesday - will gradually morph from overcast morning skies to partly sunny conditions this afternoon. Temperatures will top out in the mid-70s, pretty much average for the first week of October.

The remainder of the week through the upcoming weekend will feature mostly sunny skies, light winds, and dry conditions. Temperatures will bottom out near 60 degrees most mornings before climbing into the upper 70s to near 80 for daily highs. Overall it will be a comfortable period for those autumn festivals.

NOTE: This will be the last post for a while as I'm taking a break from the routine. Regular posts will resume by mid-month. Remember to bookmark this blog as FB is still being difficult to deal with.
