This post will be abbreviated since (a) nothing significant will punctuate the weekend weather and (b) I'm otherwise occupied this Friday morning.
Take a look at this morning's visible satellite loop:
Note the white areas that aren't moving but shrink as the loop plays. That's fog, with the areal extent showing how the widespread recent rainfall has resulted damp surface conditions. With surface air cooling down to the dew point overnight, fog is the result.Conditions today through Sunday around Mecklenburg County won't vary much. Afternoon highs in the low 90s, sticky humidity, and partly to mostly sunny skies will prevail all three days. In other words, typical July weather will be in full swing. Scattered showers and storms will dot the landscape today and Saturday, while Sunday looks to feature wider coverage of rainfall. Local rain gauges will collect less than a half-inch of liquid over the weekend.
Check the forecast a couple of times daily just in case these conditions look likely to change. Enjoy this mid-summer weekend!
